San Jose Sharks Sign Defenseman Eric Pohlkamp to Entry-Level Deal

The San Jose Sharks have signed defenseman Eric Pohlkamp to a two-year, entry-level contract, General Manager Mike Grier announced Tuesday.

Pohlkamp, 22, had an impressive collegiate season, recording 39 points on 18 goals and 21 assists in just 43 games. His offensive production from the blue line made him an attractive prospect for the rebuilding Sharks organization.

The young defenseman's ability to contribute on both ends of the ice aligns with San Jose's long-term development strategy as the franchise looks to build around a core of young talent.
